Title: Jacksons Creek (Sunbury) Cultural Values Study

Summary: The Water Unit of our Corporation was developed as an organisational response to its collaboration with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP). The Unit is dedicated to ensuring meaningful participation of Woi Wurrung people in achieving water justice.

The mechanisms for this have included legislation, advocacy, and contributing to water policy, and influencing decision making as it pertains to Country.

The Unit is currently working on a range of projects and initiatives including, but not limited to, representation on the Victorian Government Waterways of the West Ministerial Advisory Committee (WOWMAC). The WOWMAC will investigate arrangements to ensure that Traditional Owners participate in waterways management decisions. This requires research into the traditional associations and cultural values of the waterways of the west.
