Tarneen Callope is a KirraeWhurrong Gunditjmara woman from Western Victoria and Manager of the Indigenous Knowledge Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Melbourne. She has previously worked as Senior Governance Officer at the Koori Justice Unit and a Senior Project Officer at the Land Justice Unit in the Victorian Department of Justice and Community Safety.

She has spent more than a decade working in the higher education sector with the Leaders in Indigenous Medical Education (LIME) Network at the University of Melbourne and in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Support and Community Engagement for the Indigenous Health Unit at James Cook University in Cairns.

Tarneen has also spent several years working in rural and remote communities in north Queensland to establish Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and Aboriginal-led programs and services.
