Professor Paul Callaghan
Indigenous Knowledge Fellow
Professor Paul Callaghan is an Aboriginal man belonging to the land of the Worimi people, located on the New South Wales coastline now known as Port Stephens.
For many years Paul has held several senior executive positions in Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal related services, including CEO of New England TAFE, but in 2013 his desire to focus on Aboriginal community and individual wellbeing compelled him to start his own consultancy business. He has qualifications in surveying, drafting, commerce, training, executive leadership, company boards and executive coaching and has completed a PhD in Creative Practice. His most important learning, however, has been through going bush with Elders.
Paul’s best-selling book, The Dreaming Path received the Australian Book Industry Award for ‘Small Publisher’s Adult Book of the Year’ in 2023. He has a children’s book, Adventures on the Dreaming Path, scheduled for publication July 2025 and a book Two Worlds Leadership, being published late 2025.
