Josh Trindade specialises in the study of Timorese culture, traditions, and governance systems.

As an independent analyst and researcher, Josh has contributed to numerous projects exploring themes such as national solidarity, nationalism, conflict resolution, nation-building, and the intricate relationships between Timorese culture, traditional systems, and modern governance.

Josh is a passionate advocate for addressing the fundamental interplay between culture, beliefs, traditional systems, and their influence on nationalism, social solidarity, and the rule of law.

He previously served as an Adviser to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Timor-Leste and worked as an Adviser to the Office of the President, focusing on socio-cultural analysis and research.

Josh has written and published several influential anthropological papers on Timor-Leste. His work is recognized for its deep insight into the nation’s cultural heritage and its role in shaping contemporary society.
